The Government Inspector
This production by the second year Theatre Studies students of Christ University in Bengaluru/ Bangalore, India was a colourful, comic reminder that we might all do well to take ourselves a little less seriously.
The set was made of large toy blocks and periaktoi that came apart and reassembled in different ways; it highlighted how the angles we take matter when we put a story together, and lies bring limitations. The comic energy and pacing was well-suited for our cast, who found the lampooning of bureaucracy and mistaken identities especially engaging on a university campus.
