PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This assignment was part of the Directing Contemporary Styles course, to work in conjunction with a Contemporary Performance Theory Seminar.  I was assigned the compilation and production of an evening of futurist plays from the Italian futurist writers of the 1920's.  I selected 9 short plays for a 20-minute performance.

 

The scene was performed in a black box proscenium space and featured stylistically appropriate direction, design, costumes, lighting, and properties without a budget.  I cast the piece from the available undergraduate students at Baylor University, and was allotted 18 rehearsals that could not exceed two hours over a span of three weeks.
