The Man Who Was Thursday
This was a production by the second year Theatre Studies students of Christ University in Bengaluru/ Bangalore, India. The adaptation of G.K. Chesterton’s novel by playwright Bilal Dardai offered exciting opportunities for creative characterization, as most characters played dual identities in a poetic and comical thriller through the underworld of anarchy. The idea that, “it’s better to light the lantern, than to curse the darkness” resonated with the cast and their campus audience, where debates over theory and practice often arise.
